Content Usage & Licensing Tiers

When you create content for a Bounty_OS campaign, you retain ownership of that content. Brands receive a license to use your content according to the terms specified in the campaign guidelines. This page explains the licensing tiers, what brands can and cannot do, and how to verify your terms.

Default License

Every Bounty_OS campaign includes a default usage license that grants the brand specific rights to your content. The scope of these rights depends on the licensing tier selected by the brand when creating the campaign. The default tier is Organic Only, which limits usage to reposts and embeds on the brand's own channels.

Licensing Tiers

TierUsage RightsTypical PremiumCommon Use Cases
Organic Only (Default)Repost on brand channels, embed on website, share in newslettersNone (included in base rate)Brand social feeds, blog posts, email campaigns
Paid Ads (Boosted)All Organic rights + use in paid social ads, display ads, and sponsored placements+20–40% above base rateFacebook/Instagram ads, TikTok Promote, YouTube pre-roll
Full WhitelistingAll Paid Ads rights + run ads from creator's handle, full re-edit and cutdown rights+40–75% above base rateSpark Ads, Partnership Ads, long-form brand campaigns
Tier Is Set Per Campaign
The licensing tier is defined in the campaign guidelines before you join. You cannot be upgraded to a higher tier after posting without your explicit consent and additional compensation.

Usage Duration

Content usage rights are time-limited, not perpetual. The duration is specified in each campaign's guidelines and typically ranges from 6 to 12 months from the campaign completion date. After the usage window expires, the brand must stop using your content in any new placements, though existing embeds and organic reposts may remain live.

What Brands CAN Do

  • Repost your content on their own social channels with credit.
  • Embed your content on their website, landing pages, or blog.
  • Use in paid ads if the campaign tier includes Paid Ads or Full Whitelisting.
  • Create cutdowns — shorter clips or edits derived from your original content (Full Whitelisting tier only).
  • Share in internal presentations and pitch decks for case study purposes.
  • Include in email campaigns and newsletters with proper attribution.

What Brands CANNOT Do

  • Edit to misrepresent — brands cannot alter your content in a way that changes your message, misquotes you, or implies endorsement of something you did not agree to.
  • Use beyond the agreed scope — if the campaign is Organic Only, the brand cannot run your content as a paid ad.
  • Exceed the usage duration — content must not be used in new placements after the license window expires.
  • Sublicense to third parties — brands cannot transfer your content rights to other companies or agencies without your written consent.
  • Remove your attribution — your name or handle must remain associated with the content wherever reasonably possible.

Creator Ownership

You own every piece of content you create. Bounty_OS licensing is a non-exclusive license, meaning you can still use, repost, or monetize your content elsewhere — including posting it on other platforms, using it in your portfolio, or licensing it to other brands (subject to any exclusivity terms in the campaign).

How to Check Your Licensing Terms

  1. Open the campaign from your Dashboard or Active Campaigns list.
  2. Navigate to Campaign Details > Guidelines.
  3. Scroll to the Usage & Licensing section.
  4. Review the tier, duration, and any special terms before joining the campaign.
Read Before You Join
Licensing terms are agreed to when you join a campaign. If you have concerns about usage rights, reach out to the brand or contact [email protected] before accepting.
