Whitelisting & Spark Ad Permissions

Whitelisting allows brands to run paid ads using your content from your own account. Unlike traditional ads where the brand's account is the publisher, whitelisted ads appear to come from you — your handle, your profile, your content. This guide covers how it works on TikTok and Instagram, how to grant and revoke permissions, and what you earn.

What Is Whitelisting?

Whitelisting is an umbrella term for giving a brand permission to promote your organic content as a paid ad. Each platform has its own implementation:

PlatformFeature NameHow It Appears
TikTokSpark AdsYour organic post appears as a "Sponsored" ad in the For You feed, displayed from your handle
InstagramPartnership Ads (formerly Branded Content Ads)Your post appears as a paid promotion with "Paid partnership with [Brand]" label, from your account
Opt-In Only
Whitelisting is always opt-in on Bounty_OS. Brands cannot whitelist your content without your explicit permission. You must grant access per campaign, and you can revoke it at any time.

TikTok Spark Ads: Step-by-Step

To authorize a brand to use your TikTok content as a Spark Ad:

  1. Open the TikTok app and go to your profile.
  2. Tap the three-line menu (≡) in the top right, then tap Settings and privacy.
  3. Go to Creator tools > Spark Ads (you may need a Business or Creator account).
  4. Toggle Spark Ads authorization to ON.
  5. Select the specific video you want to authorize.
  6. Set the authorization duration (match this to the campaign's usage window — typically 30, 60, or 90 days).
  7. Tap Authorize to generate an authorization code.
  8. Copy the code and provide it to the brand through the campaign interface on Bounty_OS.
TikTok Spark Ads Authorization Code Format:
A 32-character alphanumeric code, e.g.: Ab1Cd2Ef3Gh4Ij5Kl6Mn7Op8Qr9St0Uv

This code is valid for the duration you selected.
The brand uses this code to link your post to their ad campaign.

Instagram Partnership Ads: Step-by-Step

To enable a brand to run Partnership Ads using your Instagram content:

  1. Open the Instagram app and go to Settings > Account > Branded content.
  2. Toggle Allow branded content tools to ON (requires a Creator or Business account).
  3. Tap Approve branded content partners and search for the brand's Instagram handle.
  4. Add the brand as an approved partner.
  5. When creating or editing your Reel, tap Advanced settings > Add paid partnership label and select the brand.
  6. Once the post is live with the partnership label, the brand can promote it as a Partnership Ad from their Meta Ads Manager.
Pre-Approve the Brand
Adding the brand as an approved partner before posting makes the process smoother. The brand can immediately access your content for promotion without waiting for a manual approval on each post.

Creator Control & Revocation

You maintain control over whitelisted content at all times:

  • Revoke TikTok Spark Ads: Go to Creator tools > Spark Ads > Manage posts > select the post > tap Deauthorize. The ad will stop running, but your organic post remains live.
  • Revoke Instagram Partnership Ads: Go to Settings > Branded content > Approved partners > remove the brand. Existing ads will stop delivering.
  • Your organic post stays live: Revoking whitelisting permissions only stops the paid ad. Your original organic content is unaffected.
  • No penalty for revoking: You will not face penalties on Bounty_OS for revoking permissions, but doing so before the agreed duration may affect future campaign opportunities with that brand.

Compensation

Whitelisting campaigns include a premium on top of the base payout rate to compensate creators for granting ad permissions:

Permission LevelTypical PremiumWhat's Included
Spark Ads / Partnership Ads only+30–40% above base rateBrand promotes your existing organic post as an ad
Full Whitelisting (ads + cutdowns)+40–75% above base rateBrand can re-edit, create cutdowns, and run multiple ad variants from your content

The premium is reflected in the campaign's payout rate per 1M views. You don't need to negotiate separately — the rate you see in the campaign details already includes the whitelisting premium.

Performance Data & Metrics

When your content is whitelisted, the brand gets access to detailed ad performance metrics that aren't available on organic posts:

  • Impressions and reach: Total number of unique users who saw the ad.
  • Click-through rate (CTR): Percentage of viewers who tapped the ad's call-to-action.
  • Conversion data: If the brand has tracking pixels set up, they can see purchases, sign-ups, or other actions driven by your content.
  • Cost per result: The brand's ad spend efficiency metrics (CPM, CPC, CPA).
  • Audience demographics: Age, gender, location, and interest breakdowns of the ad's audience.

As the creator, you retain access to your organic post metrics (views, likes, comments, shares) through TikTok or Instagram's native analytics. The ad metrics are visible to the brand in their ad manager. Bounty_OS tracks verified views from both organic and paid distribution for payout calculation purposes.

Views from Ads Count
Views generated from Spark Ads and Partnership Ads are included in your verified view count for payout purposes. This means whitelisted content often earns significantly more than organic-only content due to the additional paid distribution.
